Þórsmörk Hike | Day Tour

Get deep into the amazing Þórsmörk Mountain Reserve with a local expert. Four hours of hiking in a mind-blowing wilderness. Breathe in the fresh mountain air, enjoy the panoramic views and relish your personal “Wellness Day” in the valley of the Thunder God, mighty Thor.

Þórsmörk will provide you with an experience of a lifetime, surrounded as it is by the volcanic glaciers of Mýrdalsjökull, Tindfjallajökull and Eyjafjallajökull (the one that erupted in 2010).

We, of course, stop by at some beautiful sceneries along the way too. Among them is Gígjökull, an outlet glacier from Eyjafjallajökull, and from where a major glacial flood came down during the 2010 eruption, changing the landscape dramatically.

We will drive between the sights in our specially adapted Super Jeeps which are capable of handling rough terrain and un-bridged rivers, thus experiencing the magnificent power and colours of nature, with canyons, hanging glaciers and glacial rivers all around, set amongst birch trees and vivid green moss clad rocks.

There is a minimum of 4 participants for this tour. In case of fewer bookings we will give you two choices: alternative trip or 100% refund.

Lunch is not included. However you can order lunchboxes in the booking process.

For all bookings of day tours, a minimum of 24 hours' notice prior to your scheduled departure is required in order to receive a full refund. If a cancellation is made with less than 24 hours notice, no refund is given.

For all bookings of multi-day and custom private tours, a minimum of 72 hours' notice prior to your scheduled departure is required in order to receive a full refund. If a cancellation is made with less than 72 hours' notice, no refund is given*
