Snorkelling at Silfra
Going snorkelling in the rift between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates took our panel’s collective breath away. “It’s overwhelming in the most magical way,” they said. “There are so many sights and sensations all around you—it’s truly something you won’t be able to experience anywhere else.” The tour is tailored to individual preferences, and can be made more athletic or relaxed, with divers hovering in the sub-zero water in their thick floatation suits.

About this tour
Silfra is a fissure between the North American and Eurasian continental plates. Silfra constantly fills with glacial water that has been trickling through underground lava rock for 30 years. This remarkable crack between two tectonic plates is therefore filled with the clearest water on our planet, allowing for over 100 meters visibility.
On the snorkeling tour we will dress you in a dry suit and guide you through the four parts of the Silfra fissure. Floating through Silfra's crystal clear water is an otherworldly experience; the near-freezing water, astonishing colors, and sensations of flying provide a very unique environment for liquid meditation that you will never forget.

Good to know
Participants must:
- have read and signed the Snorkeling Silfra Medical Statement
- sign our liability release form at the start of the tour
- be between 150cm-200cm in height
- be minimum 45kg / maximum 120kg
- be at least 12 years of age
- be comfortable in water & able to swim
Where it starts
Cancellation
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the tour.
For all bookings of day tours, a minimum of 24 hours' notice prior to your scheduled departure is required in order to receive a full refund. If a cancellation is made with less than 24 hours notice, no refund is given.
For all bookings of multi-day and custom private tours, a minimum of 72 hours' notice prior to your scheduled departure is required in order to receive a full refund. If a cancellation is made with less than 72 hours' notice, no refund is given*
*Note that in the event the client requests a refund for any reason, Tour Desk reserves the right to charge a 3% administration fee to cover costs incurred.
