Sólhestar

Sólhestar keeps two stables. The Reykjavík one, on Surtlugata, rides out among the red lava hills at the city limits and around lake Elliðavatn or Rauðavatn: 2.5 hours in all, 1.5 in the saddle, with pick-up from town if you ask. The other is in Hveragerði, by Reykjadalur, the steaming valley most visitors walk up from a packed car park. From there you can ride 1.5 hours among the geothermal vents, beginners welcome, or, if you already ride, take the four-hour tour up to the warm river and get in it. Facilities there are minimal, so bring swimwear and a towel. Overalls, boots and coffee are provided. Riders must be ten or older, fourteen for the river tour.

Cancellation

For all bookings of day tours, a minimum of 24 hours' notice prior to your scheduled departure is required in order to receive a full refund. If a cancellation is made with less than 24 hours notice, no refund is given.

For all bookings of multi-day and custom private tours, a minimum of 72 hours' notice prior to your scheduled departure is required in order to receive a full refund. If a cancellation is made with less than 72 hours' notice, no refund is given*
