Private Horseback Riding Tour

In addition to our scheduled tours, we offer tailor-made tours for individuals and groups. Our facilities, horses and staff can accommodate smaller and larger groups in exclusive and comfortable settings. Allow us to organize the riding tour of your dreams!

Enjoy riding the Icelandic horse in private through stunning nature and relax in the comfort of our exclusive stables which serve to accommodate groups that want to be apart and private.

The private tours can also double as trail riding lessons should the guest wish to improve their Icelandic horse riding skills. Our instructors are ready to introduce the basics as well as fine tune the aids of the already experienced rider.

Timings are flexible when booking a private tour and pickup can be added as an extra on request.

Riding helmets, rubber boots, and rain wear/warm outfit during the ride. Trained guides who speak multiple languages (English, Scandinavian and German). Please note that it is not allowed to ride with backpacks or bags but it is possible to store valuables safely at the Íshestar Riding Center. 

• The weight limit for all our tours is 110 kg/240 lbs
• Please be at the stable 30 minutes before your departure time.
• Riding gear (riding boots, riding trousers, jackets, hats, gloves, etc.) needs to be washed (40°C), dry cleaned or disinfected before arriving in Iceland. Used leather gear may not be brought into the country. Disinfecting of riding equipment can be found here.

For all bookings of day tours, a minimum of 24 hours' notice prior to your scheduled departure is required in order to receive a full refund. If a cancellation is made with less than 24 hours notice, no refund is given.

For all bookings of multi-day and custom private tours, a minimum of 72 hours' notice prior to your scheduled departure is required in order to receive a full refund. If a cancellation is made with less than 72 hours' notice, no refund is given*

*Note that in the event the client requests a refund for any reason, Tour Desk reserves the right to charge a 3% administration fee to cover costs incurred.
