The Heritage Tour

This tour goes through meadows and lava fields. On our way we pass several farms, which give us an idea of how the agriculture has developed in the last decades. On the way we have a good opportunity to experience the gait tölt on the many good tölt paths. At the end of the tour you are invited for coffee and an homebaked treat. 

Please note: The tour is suitable for all levels of riding experience from beginners to advanced. During booking process, we ask our clients to inform us about their riding experience, which helps us to choose the right horses for everyone. Beginners and experienced riders ride together. We always try to tölt as much as possible, but do not gallop for safety reasons.

This tour is offered all year round. 1.5-2 hours riding, including coffee. Pick-up in Reykjavik every day at 08:00 and at 13:00. Return to Reykjavík ca. 13:00 and 17:15. Note that pick up from hotels in Hafnarfjörður, Kópavogur and Mosfellsbær is at 7:30 and pick up from Seltjarnarnes, Hveragerði and Selfoss is at 8:45 for the morning tour and pick up from Hveragerði and Selfoss is at 13:45 for the afternoon tour. Please double check your booking a day or two before arrival for the pick up location, as the bus stops may change without notice.

For all bookings of day tours, a minimum of 24 hours' notice prior to your scheduled departure is required in order to receive a full refund. If a cancellation is made with less than 24 hours notice, no refund is given.

For all bookings of multi-day and custom private tours, a minimum of 72 hours' notice prior to your scheduled departure is required in order to receive a full refund. If a cancellation is made with less than 72 hours' notice, no refund is given*

*Note that in the event the client requests a refund for any reason, Tour Desk reserves the right to charge a 3% administration fee to cover costs incurred.
