Sea Trips Reykjavík
Sea Trips Reykjavík runs small-group yacht cruises from the Old Harbour, with check-in at Old Harbour House half an hour before sailing. The main event is whale watching aboard the Amelia Rose, up to three hours in Faxaflói looking for minkes, humpbacks, dolphins and porpoises. On the Grapevine's Faxaflói outing it took about an hour to reach the whales, after which a guide called positions by the clock and everyone raced from rail to rail. Nothing is guaranteed, but a whale-free trip earns a free return. Also on offer: a one-hour summer puffin run past Engey, Lundey and Viðey, a northern lights cruise away from the city glow, and an early evening sail with a three-course dinner at Kopar. It is cold out there even in summer.

To see the aurora requires a clear and dark night sky, so a SeaTrips Northern Lights cruise will take you away from the bright lights of the capital city for a much better chance of success. Remember though – the Northern Lights are not “on” every day!

Good to know
Please check-in at the Old Harbour House at Aegisgardur 2, 101 Reykjavík 30 minutes before departure.
The tour takes about 1.5-2.5 hours depending on how early/late the lights might appear.
If you added pick-up service to your tour the car will be there 45 minutes before departure.

- The tour takes place in wild nature, sightings cannot be predicted or guaranteed. If there are no sightings on the tour, we do not offer refunds but instead, we offer our passengers a free return to join our tour depending on availability or receive a voucher valid for up to three years.
