Mega Zipline Iceland

The Svartagljúfur canyon sits right beside the switchbacks down into Hveragerði, and almost everyone drives past without noticing it. Mega Zipline, the longest and fastest in Iceland, was built to fix that. You sign a waiver at Árhólmar 1, by the Reykjadalur trailhead, learn three positions (pencil to speed up, starfish to slow down, legs up to land), ride a van part of the way and hike the last five to ten minutes to the launch tower. From there two parallel cables drop a full kilometre off the plateau into the valley. Go seated, as Free as a Bird, or headfirst as Superman, strapped into what feels like a very sturdy apron. The sheep below may look up when you start hollering. Minimum age nine.

The Lava Tunnel and Mega Zipline Iceland Combo Tour is an unforgettable experience for adventure seekers visiting Iceland. The tour starts with a visit to Mega Zipline Iceland in Hveragerði.  There they can zip through the air and take in the stunning views of the surrounding landscapes, including mountains, hot springs, and the stunning canyon "Svartagljúfur".  After the zipline, visitors will then head to the Lava Tunnel which is only 15 minutes away.  Your booking at the Lava Tunnel is approximately two hours after the Zipline so if your booking is at 10 am (or 10.15) for the zipline, then your booking at The Lava Tunnel will be at 12.00 noon.  So there is no need to rush and you actually should have time to grab a sandwich or a cup of coffee between the two trips.   The Lava Tunnel is a natural cave formed by flowing lava thousands of years ago. Inside the tunnel, visitors can explore the unique geological formations, such as stalactites and stalagmites, and learn about the volcanic history of Iceland.   This combo tour is perfect for those looking to combine a unique cultural and geological experience with an adrenaline-pumping adventure.

For the Mega Zipline, the minimum age is 9 years old.   Minimum weight is 30 kg (66 lbs) and maximum weight is 120 kg (265 lbs).  Children (9 - 12 years old) need to be accompanied by an adult (18+).
