The customers named it. When the cocktails landed, people said “vá”, Icelandic for wow, often enough that the owners retired the old name, Coffee and Cocktail, and put the reaction on the sign. Imad El Moubarik and Jofred Enrique Galeno Suarez met working at the Salvation Army, one in the kitchen, one in the café, and opened here in Hafnartorg in February 2025. Imad has tended bar for more than ten years, and his Old Fashioned won best in class at Reykjavík Cocktail Week. The espresso martini is finished with a blowtorch. Happy hour runs 15:00 to 18:00 every day, with a second round on Friday and Saturday nights. A rare case of the customers being right.
