The Skrimslis Wool Monster Workshop
Monstri, the family business Alma Björk set up in 2011, makes Skrimslis: small monsters of Icelandic wool, partly sewn from leftover fabric that local wool manufacturers might otherwise throw away. At the family's seaside workshop in Álftanes (Grapevine calls it Skrímslasmiðja), you choose the body, hands, feet, hair, horns, tail, eyes and mouth, and the staff do all the sewing. Turning your monster inside out to see what you have made is what they call the birth. Sessions are private, take about an hour, suit any age and end with you taking the monster home. Anyone in the group not making one gets coffee or the beach.

For all bookings of day tours, a minimum of 24 hours' notice prior to your scheduled departure is required in order to receive a full refund. If a cancellation is made with less than 24 hours notice, no refund is given.
For all bookings of multi-day and custom private tours, a minimum of 72 hours' notice prior to your scheduled departure is required in order to receive a full refund. If a cancellation is made with less than 72 hours' notice, no refund is given*
