So you’ve been on a glacier, but have you been in one? If no, the Langjökull Ice Tunnel will give you the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to stroll around under ice. The man-made cavernous structure spiders its way through the glacier giving you unparalleled views and a general sense of ‘woah’. There’s even an ice chapel if you feel a little romantic.

About this tour
Meet us at Klaki Base Camp, on the glacier's edge - where our adventure will begin. A thrilling snowmobile ride takes us over the immense expanse of ice & snow to the ice tunnel entrance, nestled high atop Langjökull. We spend 1 hour inside the tunnel before reboarding our snowmobiles for the return ride.
This is a rare opportunity to witness the grandeur of a glacier from the inside and out, in a safe, accessible, and thrilling manner. See, touch, and learn about the ice that shapes much of Iceland's natural beauty in this one-of-a-kind adventure into the world's longest ice tunnel.
IMPORTANT: WARM CLOTHING – even in summer – and a driver’s license.
A valid driver’s license is required to operate a snowmobile. Children and guests without a license can ride a double snowmobile with a licensed guest. The minimum age for joining this tour as a passenger is 8 years.

Necessary Snowmobile Equipment (vehicle, helmet, overall suit, balaclava/buff, mask, and gloves).
What to bring
- Waterproof shoes and warm socks
- Base and mid-layer clothing
- Sunglasses - the sunlight on the glacier can be exceptionally bright
Good to know
A valid driver’s license is required to operate a snowmobile. The number of guests without licenses cannot exceed those with licenses. Children and guests without a license can ride a double snowmobile with a licensed guest.
The minimum age for joining this tour as a passenger is 8 years.
The road from Húsafell to Klaki is an F-Road only suitable for 4x4 vehicles.
