About The Brothers Brewery

Started in 2012 by a couple of brothers and their friends doing what people do with a bucket and too much free time, and turned into an actual brewery — by 2017 they had opened a 550 square metre brewpub on Bárustígur. The flagship is Eldfell, a red ale brewed with dulse hand-picked on the islands, which is the sort of detail that could be marketing and in this case is just what was available. The taps run through IPAs, stouts and seasonals frequently named after people who live within walking distance. There is food, there is live music often enough to be worth checking, and the room fills with locals rather than only with visitors, which is the whole point.
