About Tapas Barinn
Open since 2000 on Vesturgata, and Grapevine's Best Place To Take A Date in 2013 for a sound reason: the plates come one after another, so "there is always something happening". Spanish tapas made with Icelandic ingredients, roughly a thousand krónur a plate, with the Icelandic Gourmet menu as the visitor's rite of passage: smoked puffin with blueberry brennivín sauce, minke whale, white-chocolate skyr mousse and a shot of brennivín. Salsa on the speakers, orange-and-blue tiles, small red lights. Dinner only, from five.
