About Matur og Drykkur
From the team behind Slippurinn in the Westman Islands, named after the classic Icelandic cookbook and housed in the ninety-year-old Allianz salt house at Grandi, next to the Saga Museum. The food takes old Icelandic dishes and dresses them up: a whole cod head cooked in chicken stock and torched at the table, pork cheeks with prune jam, herb-crusted lamb, liquorice pancakes with Omnom chocolate. It held a Michelin Bib Gourmand when Grapevine reviewed it and now runs as a tasting menu; the torched cod head, they wrote, "is a spectacle". Dinner only, closed Mondays.
