About Kröns

Family-run, on upper Laugavegur, full of plants, tiles and colour. Chef and co-owner Franklín Jóhann Margrétarson does what the house calls an elevated take on traditional Icelandic flavours, which in practice means you share Icelandic scallop, lobster taco, croquetas de bacalao and beef tataki, then argue over lamb fillet, braised veal cheeks or the fish of the day. There is also a proper Icelandic lamb soup, for when the weather has won. Dessert is a duo with two spoons; negotiate in advance. Evenings only, from five. Happy hour for the first hour.
