Another building with rich history, Austurbær can seat more than 500 people, and from the late 1940s was a music venue, where The Kinks famously played in 1965. After a stint as a movie theatre, it became a live venue again in early this century for a few years. Under new management it has — with a bang — gone back into live music, making it the best larger venue in Reykjavík. “It’s new, exciting, and great for larger events,” the panel rightfully observed. Also, you can play darts there, and eat delicious pizza.
