The all-day kitchen and bar at the Hlemmur end of Laugavegur, ground floor of Miðgarður by Center Hotels, with a garden out back for the four days a year it matters. Contemporary Nordic without the sermon: loaded nachos for the table, Icelandic lamb with date jam and remoulade, an open-faced steak sandwich, fresh seafood, and a cocktail list as long as the food menu. The staff are used to people arriving straight off the airport bus, slightly broken. Kitchen 11:30 to 21:45, bar until 23:00. Happy hour four to six. Lunch is 2 for 1 on weekdays from 11:30 to 15:00, and there are food-and-spa packages.
