Lava Tunnel & Caving - Private Eco Tour

Explore the remote tunnels and caves of Iceland with your own private guide - with this tour you will venture off the beaten track deep into the lava fields to a remote cave that many do not know exist. 

The journey to the cave takes approximately 2 hours. Once we are at the site we will walk for 45 minutes through the rough terrain to find the hidden enterance to one of Icelands longest lava tubes and caves.

You will need to have a moderate level of fitness. You will spend about 2 hours exploring the inner working's of the volcanic flows with your guide. This tour is designed for those that like adventure and want to get away from the crowds. You will need to be able to manoeuvre over and around large boulders and volcanic rocks. This is by far one of Icelands greatest adventures !!!

You will be given all necessary equipment for the caving, including a helmet and torch. You will need to bring with you suitable clothing, sturdy shoes and gloves.

The adventure will begin from the city, where you will be picked up directly from your hotel. On-route to the caves we can stop and pickup lunch and snacks for the day if needed. You will see lava fields, lava flows, lava tunnels, volcanic craters, stalagmite's and stalactite's, precious volcanic lava hair ... unique cave bacteria and minerals within the lava flows.

Make sure you bring your camera - Your friends will never believe where you have been - Inside a volcano !

• Icelands forever changing weather can pose for an adventurous day, Make sure you bring protective waterproof clothing along with some warm layers, hat and gloves.

• The hike and caving can be demanding, you should have a moderate level of fitness. You can of course choose how far you want to hike and when you wish to return.

For all bookings of day tours, a minimum of 24 hours' notice prior to your scheduled departure is required in order to receive a full refund. If a cancellation is made with less than 24 hours notice, no refund is given.

For all bookings of multi-day and custom private tours, a minimum of 72 hours' notice prior to your scheduled departure is required in order to receive a full refund. If a cancellation is made with less than 72 hours' notice, no refund is given*
