Runner up 2026 in “Best Goddamn Bar” and “Best Happy Hour”. Dead-centre for a Laugavegur walk, Prikið boasts that rare Reykjavík product – regulars. They have them for a reason. The bar has been in operation since 1951, and you can feel the history, as, other than partitioning off the upstairs, there has been no significant removal since its founding. In recent times, Reykjavík’s hip hop scene developed here. It also hosts one of the best happy hours in town. One of the most established of the bars, and the singularly most established happy hours, our panel cited this as “old school.” Nobody needed to check, as everyone knows the time is 16:00 to 18:00. “The regulars will never let them change it,” our panel assures us. The definition of classic, if you want a beer with good company that truly matches the scenery, this is our go-to.
